Non-vilence is when people choose not to fight against other. i feel that it is THE most affective way of standing up for what you believe in. i have chosen some examples of people who use non-vilence when standing up againest thoughs who oppress them.

The first examle that I have is a document from Gandhi telling people that theyt should fast to fight the british he called it a "sacred fight"-document A

The next document that I have chosen is a document that has Dr. Martin Luther King telling people that in order to be treated as equal they must boycott the buses, which is a act of non-vilence. -document B

I have chosen next another document by Gandhi telling the british that he will "not harm a single Englishmen". Of course i feel this is an act of non-vilence because he promised not to harm anyone in the boycott against the salt tax. -document D

Next I chose another document by Dr. King telling people that they should form a "non-vilent army" againest the government. -document H

For my final old document i chose a document by Nelson Mandela telling volunteers not to act out againset those who try to harm them, instead they should fight back with non vilence. -document I

For my first new document i chose a document from Martin luther King telling those who show up to the sit-in at the Rich department store that they should not act out in vilence. -document E

For my second and last new document i have chosen a document from Nelson Mandela saying "some argued for nonvilence on purly ethical grounds, saying it was morally superior to any othe methiod."-document F

In the movie Gandhi i nocticed that Gandhi would never fight back physically agianest the British. One of the moments was when Gandhi was burning green card like objects in front of the police. And after awhile they started to beat him but he never fought back. The second moment that I noticed was when they were boycotting the salt mines and and they lined up and marched to their beatings. And Gandhi was in jail when they were marching so they must have been really inspiered for nonvilence.
