Non-vilence is when people choose not to fight against other. i feel that it is THE most affective way of standing up for what you believe in. i have chosen some examples of people who use non-vilence when standing up againest thoughs who oppress them.

The first examle that I have is a document from Gandhi telling people that theyt should fast to fight the british he called it a "sacred fight"-document A

The next document that I have chosen is a document that has Dr. Martin Luther King telling people that in order to be treated as equal they must boycott the buses, which is a act of non-vilence. -document B

I have chosen next another document by Gandhi telling the british that he will "not harm a single Englishmen". Of course i feel this is an act of non-vilence because he promised not to harm anyone in the boycott against the salt tax. -document D

Next I chose another document by Dr. King telling people that they should form a "non-vilent army" againest the government. -document H

For my final old document i chose a document by Nelson Mandela telling volunteers not to act out againset those who try to harm them, instead they should fight back with non vilence. -document I

For my first new document i chose a document from Martin luther King telling those who show up to the sit-in at the Rich department store that they should not act out in vilence. -document E

For my second and last new document i have chosen a document from Nelson Mandela saying "some argued for nonvilence on purly ethical grounds, saying it was morally superior to any othe methiod."-document F

In the movie Gandhi i nocticed that Gandhi would never fight back physically agianest the British. One of the moments was when Gandhi was burning green card like objects in front of the police. And after awhile they started to beat him but he never fought back. The second moment that I noticed was when they were boycotting the salt mines and and they lined up and marched to their beatings. And Gandhi was in jail when they were marching so they must have been really inspiered for nonvilence.

rights

1. The right that I chose for my project is the right of privacy.

2. This right exsists today so that citizens of the United States will be bable to live safely with out other intruding in on them.

3. The right of privacy means a person or group of people can seclude themselves without others consent. And thoughs who choose to bother them may be punished.

4. The right of privacy sounds nice but there are limitations. To share one the rule of taxation takes away the right of privacy when the government asks thoughs indiviuals for personal information.

5. These limitations are around because the government needs to be able to keep tabs on certian people that have done bad things.

6. I dont really feel that there is anything to give up due to the fact that the right of privacy isnt even in the consititution. I feel that the right of privacy isnt really in full use due to taxation and other rules that require you to give out personal information.

1. Egypt got involved in the convilect along time ago when Egypt held the isrealies as slaves. but most resently in the 1950s didnt allow isreal's ships through and isreal got mad and took one of egypt's people. And when Egypt attacked on yom kippur. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab-Israeli_conflict
2. like i said Egypt as be in conflict with the israels since a phareo ruled Egypt. In 1956 Eygpt closed their canal to the israelis which cause a lot of dispute. Later because of this israel attacked the gaza strip. In 1967 israel launched a gaint air attack on Eygpt and other Arab countries. In 1969 Eygpt attaked israel until that gave up the pennisula. In 1979 Eygpt and israel signed a peace aggrement which gave Eygpt back the pennisula and Israel back the gaza strip.
3. Syria and labonon or the enemies of egypt after they attaked egypt.

4. After a 1979 peace aggrement israel is are friend and ally.

5. I sure we would like the gaza strip back since we fought over it but as if right now we are fine.

6. we are perpared to attack but under the 1979 aggrement we can not.
7. We will not give back the pennisula.

reflection post

1. i learned how the doughnut was created and how it got its famous hole.
2. how was the doughnut of day was created
3. well the doughnut of today is a cirle with a hole in the center, and that was created by hansen gregory's mother elizibeth gregory when she tried to fashion the doughnut which was just a glob into a protible snack.
4. i belieive that it did answer our question.
5. we did a speech about the story and handed out the dought of today.
6. i think we did well finding information.
7. i think we could have been more orgaized.
8. i would have done the movie that we planned but we didnt because of time problems.
9. i would not change anything i thought it was a good project.
10. i think i deserve a low A or high B because i felt that even if i didnt get my stuff done on the right dates i still worked hard.

this website talks about how the doughnut was invented and how this one dude found it out
http://home.comcast.net/~osoono/ethnicdoughs/doughnut/doughnut.htm

this suggests that the name of the doughnut came from the way it looked.

i found out a lot about the doughnut today that i didnt know. i found that the doughnut hole was created because the salor thought it was to soggy in the middle so his mom cut out the center.i hope next time to find out a lot more.
http://library.thinkquest.org/J003336/history.htm

this website talks about how hasen gregory created the doughnut with a hole in the middle. it also explains that the his mom created it beacuse hansen didnt like that the doughnut was soggy in the middle and she took out the middle for him
http://www.salvationarmynw.org/ourstory/history_doughnut.asp

this site tell you about how the salvation army made the doughnut famous by giving them to hungry Americans.
http://www.essortment.com/all/doughnuthistory_rgjt.htm

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/yeast-doughnuts-recipe/index.html

this website gives you a recipe for making a doughnut which i find useful

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

http://www.wentz.net/donut/history_of_the_donut.htm

on this site it tells different stories of how the doughnut was created. it said that one of the first doughnuts was created after a cow kicked over a boiling pot of oil onto a dough mixture. and a ship capton's mother used to make a version of the doughnut that used to ward off scervy.

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

http://www.socialstudiesforkids.com/articles/ushistory/doughnut_history.htm

i found that this is a very good website. it explains the invention of the doughnut or who they think it was. i was found out that the inventor of the doughnut is ahnsen gregory and his mother. she made a way to make a cake but put a hole in it so her son could steer the boat while he ate.
last class i wanted to find out how the doughnut was invinted, but i was not successful. i did not find a site that could really answer that question and mostly because i was not fouced during the class period. i have now figured out that i need to actually need to use every day i can get.
today in my new day of resreach i plan to find out who invited the doughnut, where was it invited, and why was it invited. i did find some answers to my questions today. i found that it probley was the dutch who invited the doughnut. i just figured that it was invited because people were hungery but i do need to look further into that. i have not yet found out how it was invited yet.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doughnut

this website talks about all of the people that could have been responsible for the invition of the doughnut. the two main people are a group of dutch settlers and a man who was traviling on a bout in the ocean.

card #1

http://go.grolier.com/

in this site they talked about the business aspest of the doughnut. they catorgoized baked goods with doughnuts in the 5th and last catogory. it talks about how the doughnut began to burst out of its shell during wwII

7 questions

my reserach question is How was the doughnut invinted. i am pretty sure im going to make a video explaing my question. i chose the video because i felt it was the easiest way to do it, and funest. the finel project is going to be a video of someone making douhgnuts with us explaining our information. or its goin to be me and grant discovering the doughnut. we are goin to collect information untill our question is answered then we are going to plan out our video then film.
